Simple Christmas Cookies with Sprinkles
This holiday sprinkle cookie recipe is supposed to be easy, so let it be easy!
The holiday season gets so busy and many of us bake Christmas cookies as part of our holiday traditions.
Sometimes we simply don't have the time to bake everything from scratch and I want to let you in on a little secret… it's ok if you don't bake all the cookies from scratch.
It is perfectly fine to use prepared dough, slice and bake, or plain baked sugar cookies from the store to decorate with your kids.
You can even use this activity for kids to practice practical life skills.
Older children can practice reading and following directions on the cookie packaging. Little kids can practice fine motor skills by frosting and adding sprinkles.
It is an easy baking activity that's fun for the whole family!
Holiday Sprinkle Cookie Recipe
This recipe was made to be dairy, gluten, soy and artificial-dyes free.
If you don't have allergy restrictions, simply replace any ingredients with your favorite premade sugar cookie dough, canned vanilla frosting and any variety of decorating sugar or nonpareil sprinkles!
You can also use your favorite homemade sugar cookie recipe to make circle cut outs then follow the instructions for easy cookie decorating with sprinkles.

- Frosting Spatula
How to Decorate Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles:
Bake your sugar cookies according to the directions on the package or use your favorite sugar cookie recipe.
Let the cookies cool completely after baking.
Lightly frost the cookies with a spatula.
Using the mini cookie cutters, gently place them onto the cookie.
Lightly pour decorating sugar or sprinkles inside the cookie cutter. Then carefully tap excess sprinkles off before removing the cookie cutter.
Remove the cookie cutter and enjoy!
